Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about using WizeSwap for more reliable meetups.
What is WizeSwap?
WizeSwap addresses arguably the biggest trust problem in local marketplaces today: flaky buyers and sellers.
Users who:
Schedule a meeting and never show up.
Cancel at the last minute.
Ghost you after making plans.
Consistently waste other people's time.
WizeSwap addresses this problem by introducing scheduled appointments, verified meetups, and a feedback system based on whether users honor their commitments.
How does the WizeSwap Meeting Scheduler work?
The WizeSwap Meeting Scheduler is straightforward to use:
1. Schedule the Meeting 📅
Choose a date, time, and location. Once both parties agree, the meetup becomes a confirmed appointment.
2. Verify Attendance 📍
When it's time to meet, each person uses WizeSwap's built-in verification feature to confirm their arrival at the agreed location.
3. See the Meeting Result & Leave Feedback ⭐
WizeSwap records the outcome based on verified attendance—creating a clear record of who showed up and whether the meeting was successfully completed.
What are the rules for a WizeSwap meeting?
WizeSwap was designed to make confirmed meetups meaningful while still allowing for the unexpected.
📍 Verifying Attendance
You can verify your arrival beginning 10 minutes before your scheduled meeting and up to 10 minutes after. Location verification confirms that you made it to the agreed meeting place.
🕐 Running Late
Life happens. WizeSwap keeps you accountable without being unreasonable.
If you're running behind, use the Running Late feature before your attendance window closes to request a one-time extension. The other party is notified and can accept or decline the new time. Feedback eligibility then depends on the outcome:
Extension Accepted: The extended time becomes your new confirmed meeting window.
Extension Declined or Unanswered: The original meeting time remains unchanged. However, if you verify your arrival during the extension you requested, negative no-show feedback cannot be left against you. The other person may leave positive feedback or neutral feedback marked "Showed Up Late."
No Arrival Verified: If you don't verify your arrival by the end of your requested extension, normal no-show feedback rules apply.
❌ Canceling a Meeting
Plans change. A confirmed meeting can be canceled up to 2 hours before the scheduled meeting time.
Once you're within 2 hours of the meeting, cancellation is no longer available and the meeting remains eligible for feedback.
🔄 Rescheduling a Meeting
Need a different time? You can propose a new meeting time up to 2 hours before your scheduled meeting.
Once you're within the 2-hour window, rescheduling is no longer available and the meeting remains eligible for feedback.
Is WizeSwap a marketplace?
No. WizeSwap doesn't replace Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, or other classifieds platforms.
It works alongside them to help buyers and sellers turn meetup plans into confirmed, accountable appointments.
Does WizeSwap guarantee that someone will show up?
No. WizeSwap can't guarantee that another person will show up.
It creates accountability by recording confirmed appointments, allowing users to verify attendance, and providing feedback recourse when commitments aren't honored.
Why does WizeSwap use Facebook Sign-In?
Facebook provides a convenient way to sign in and offers a basic level of transparency beyond a traditional email-only account.
Facebook Sign-In does not mean that WizeSwap guarantees a user's identity or reliability.
Does WizeSwap verify someone's identity?
Users can have different levels of verification:
Facebook Sign-In — Required to create and access a WizeSwap account.
Phone Verified — Required before participating in a confirmed meetup.
ID Verified— Optional additional identity verification for users who want to strengthen their trust profile.
Verification provides additional trust signals but should not be interpreted as a guarantee that a user is trustworthy or safe.
Does WizeSwap work with Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and OfferUp?
Yes. WizeSwap is designed to work alongside virtually any classifieds marketplace.
Sellers can add their unique WizeSwap Meeting Link to a listing or share it directly with a prospective buyer.
What information does WizeSwap collect when I verify my attendance?
When you verify your attendance, WizeSwap uses your phone's native location feature to determine whether you are within the agreed meeting area during the applicable attendance window. When you tap "Share My Current Location” in the WizeSwap app, the browser takes a one-time GPS snapshot. It does not track you continuously — there's no ongoing background location feed. That single coordinate reading is then compared against the meeting location set by the seller to verify your attendance.
Is WizeSwap free?
Yes! WizeSwap is currently free to create an account, schedule meetings, verify attendance, and leave feedback.
What if I have a bad experience even though both people showed up?
WizeSwap is primarily designed to track meeting reliability—whether people honor their commitments and show up—not to arbitrate disputes about an item's price, condition, payment, or the transaction itself.
If both parties show up, feedback may still be available for aspects of the meetup experience supported by WizeSwap. Issues involving the item, payment, or transaction should be resolved directly between the buyer and seller.
