WizeSwap Privacy Policy

WizeSwap (“WizeSwap,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides tools that help local buyers and sellers schedule meetups, verify attendance, and provide feedback regarding completed or scheduled meetups.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use WizeSwap.

1. Information We Collect

When you use WizeSwap, we may collect information including:

Account Information
We may collect your name, email address, profile information, and information provided through supported sign-in methods, such as Facebook Login.

Phone Number and Verification Information
WizeSwap may require you to provide and verify a mobile phone number before requesting or accepting certain meetups. When you request phone verification, WizeSwap or its service providers may send you a one-time verification code by SMS.

Your phone number may be used for account verification, security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and other transactional purposes related to your WizeSwap account.

SMS Consent: By providing your mobile phone number and requesting verification, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages containing one-time verification codes from WizeSwap. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on verification requests.

WizeSwap does not use phone verification consent to send marketing or promotional SMS messages.

Location Information
If you choose to verify your attendance at a scheduled meetup, WizeSwap may request access to your device's location services to determine whether you are at or near the agreed meeting location.

Location information may be used to verify attendance, determine meeting outcomes, prevent abuse, and support WizeSwap's feedback system.

Meeting Information
We may collect information relating to WizeSwap meetups, including requested and agreed dates, times, locations, cancellations, rescheduling requests, attendance verification, and meeting outcomes.

Feedback and Reputation Information
We may collect feedback submitted by users, verified meetup history, attendance information, and other information used to establish a user's WizeSwap reliability history.

Technical Information
We may automatically collect certain information about your use of WizeSwap, such as IP address, device and browser information, timestamps, and application activity.

2. How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

  • Provide and operate WizeSwap;

  • Create and maintain user accounts;

  • Authenticate users and verify phone numbers;

  • Facilitate meeting requests and confirmed meetups;

  • Verify attendance at agreed meeting locations;

3. SMS and Phone Verification

WizeSwap uses SMS messaging for transactional phone verification.

By entering your phone number and requesting a verification code, you agree to receive an SMS containing a one-time passcode from WizeSwap.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

SMS consent is not a condition of purchasing goods or services from another WizeSwap user. WizeSwap does not sell or share SMS opt-in information or consent with third parties for their marketing or promotional purposes.

We may use third-party communications providers, such as Twilio, to deliver verification messages.

4. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate WizeSwap, including providers of hosting, authentication, communications, phone verification, security, and technical services.

Certain profile, verification, meeting, attendance, or feedback information may be displayed to other WizeSwap users as necessary to provide WizeSwap's trust and accountability features.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our legal rights, or to investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our Terms.

We do not sell SMS opt-in information or consent to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Location Information

Location verification is intended to help establish whether a participant arrived at an agreed meetup location. Location verification does not guarantee a person's identity, safety, intentions, or conduct.

Where required by your device, WizeSwap will request permission before accessing location information. You may control location permissions through your device settings, although disabling location access may prevent you from using attendance-verification features.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide WizeSwap, maintain account and meetup records, prevent fraud and abuse, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our agreements.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no online service or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Children's Privacy

WizeSwap is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, or deletion.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through WizeSwap or by other appropriate means.
